Introduction

Printed cards, eCards and print your own cards all include a photograph and description of your gift (the Smiles theme). Alternatively, you can choose a Wedding or Seasonal themed card which is not gift-specific. You can personalise these cards with your own message, either online if you choose eCards or by hand for printed and print your own cards.

Sorry, but you can only select one type of gift card for each of the gifts you'd like to send.


Printed cards

This is a printed greeting card, much the same as you would buy in a shop. The difference is that these cards include a photograph and description of your gift. Ordering gifts and choosing printed cards is easy - just choose an item from one of the gift categories, let us know how many you'd like to order and select the 'Printed’ card option before adding the gift to your 'gift basket'.

We will send you a printed card for every item that you purchase, provided you select the printed card option. For example, if you order three goats and select 'Printed' card, you will receive three individual goat cards.

All the cards you order will be sent to you by post. Once you receive your cards you will be able to write in them to add your personal touch, and send them on to your lucky friend or family member!

* Please note, if you make a selection from our gift packages, you will only receive one card per package.


eCards

An eCard is an electronic card which includes a photo, a description of your gift and your personalised message.

When you select a gift and choose the eCard option, you will be asked to provide your name and email address and the email address and name(s) of the person to receive the eCard. There will also be an opportunity to add your personal message to the eCard.

A link to the eCard you have created will be sent to the delivery email address you advise on the date you select. This link will provide the required access for your friend to view their eCard. You and your gift recipient must have valid email addresses if you want to choose the eCard option.

Follow these instructions to order an eCard:

  1. Add the required item to your gift basket.
  2. Enter the required quantity for this gift selection.
  3. Select 'eCard' from the gift card options.
  4. 4. Select the type of theme you want on your eCard (either 'Smiles', 'Wedding' or 'Seasonal' image).
  5. Click on 'Continue'.
  6. Personalise your eCard and select the date you want it delivered. Click the check box if you want a copy of the eCard sent to your email address as well.
  7. Preview your eCard to make sure the details are correct.
  8. Click on 'Continue to gift basket' to add the eCard details to your gift basket.

If you want to add a gift to an eCard you have already created:

  1. Select the required gift.
  2. Enter the required quantity for this gift selection.
  3. Select 'eCard' from the gift card options.
  4. If you have already created more than one eCard, you will need to choose the correct eCard destination from the drop down list.
  5. Click on 'Continue' to preview your card.
  6. Click on 'Continue to gift basket' if the card is correct or 'Edit' if there’s something you'd like to change.
  7. You will be taken to the gift basket.

If you are sending an eCard, you must decide how many of a particular gift item is to be included in the one gift, as each eCard can only be sent to one email address. For example, to send a single gift of three mosquito nets, simply type '3' in the 'Quantity required' box. Note, however, that the eCard message will not reflect your purchase of additional quantities of this gift item.

If you prefer to send three gifts of one mosquito net, with a separate eCard for three different gift recipients, make sure you add the mosquito net to your gift basket three times – once for each eCard. This allows you to personalise each eCard.

Print your own cards

A print your own card can be downloaded and printed on your home printer. You can then add your own personal message before giving it to your gift recipient.

With a print your own card, you can select the type of theme you want, either 'Smiles', 'Wedding' or 'Seasonal'. Once your Smiles transaction is complete, a PDF containing the card you have selected will be created. It will come with instructions on how to print the card from your home printer.

When you choose the print your own card option, you will be asked to provide your email address so that we can send you confirmation advice and a PDF containing your card.

When your Smiles transaction has been successfully completed, you will be taken to an online confirmation screen that also includes a link to the PDF containing your card and printing instructions. If, however, your transaction is delayed for any reason, the card will not be immediately available.

If you have provided us with your email address, we will send you confirmation advice and a PDF of your card as soon as your transaction is complete.

NOTE: If you do not provide us with your email address, you will need to contact our Supporter Service Team on 1300 303 440 for further instructions.


Can I get more than one card type for each gift?

No. You can only select one type of gift card for each gift.


I really want to send an eCard but don’t have email

Sorry, but you and your gift recipient need a valid email address if you want to choose the eCard option. If you don’t have an email account, but your gift recipient does, perhaps you could ask a friend to place the order for you.


Card postal delivery time

For online and phone orders placed by 2pm, we will dispatch your gift cards the next working day. Cards for coupon orders mailed to us will be dispatched within 72 hours of us receiving the order.

There are many factors that may delay the delivery of your cards:
Delivery to remote areas (which may take longer);
Incorrect or illegible addresses.


Undeliverable emails

If your eCard can’t be delivered for any reason, we will attempt to notify you via the email address you provided when you completed the eCard. Please check email addresses carefully before submitting them as we won’t be able to contact you if the details you provide are incorrect.

Incorrect email addresses are a common cause of delivery failure, but sometimes settings designed to prevent unsolicited email from being delivered can also prevent delivery, as can email delivery restrictions imposed by employers. If you are thinking of sending an eCard, it might pay to check that your friends will be able to receive them.


No card

Maybe you don’t want to send a card for your gift item. That’s okay. Simply select the ‘no card’ option when adding a gift to the gift basket.
