Birrung Gallery is one of the activities of the Australia Program of World Vision Australia .The award winning gallery has been in operation for over twelve years and provides unique Indigenous artwork to collectors and art lovers around the world. The ethical sale of art at Birrung supports over 400 Indigenous artists and over 25 remote area art centres across Australia.
A lively exhibition program showcases the rich diversity of art forms including painting, fibre arts,sculpture, printmaking , ceramics and more

Birrung also advocates for the rights of Indigenous artists through such avenues as the current national Code of Conduct for Commercial Galleries administered by the Federal Government.

Throughout 2010 Birrung will host an exciting exhibition program featuring solo and group exhibitions from as far afield as Cape York Peninsular,The Tiwi Islands , Central and Western deserts  and local NSW artists. In addition the gallery has incoming stock of popular art forms from across Australia on a regular basis .
Our gallery stockroom always features fresh new work as well as selected items on sale .It is a great place to browse!

We are located in the vibrant East Sydney precinct on the border of Kings Cross /Potts Point and Woolloomooloo.Major cultural institutions such as the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the Australia Museum  and  the well known cafes of Stanley St , East Sydney are a 10 minute stroll. 
Parking is often easily available outside the gallery on weekends in William Street .

Winner City of Sydney Business Awards

Birrung Gallery is proud to announce that we were awarded the City of Sydney Business Award 2009 for the Charity category. Staff attended the awards ceremony on Tuesday the 20th of October 2009 held at the Sheraton on the Park hosted by David Koch and the Lord Mayor Clover Moore MP.

Thankyou to everyone who has supported the gallery over the years and we look forward to your continuing suppport in 2010.
