A repellent-treated mosquito net
Malaria needlessly kills 3,000 children every day. A repellent-treated mosquito net can protect a child from deadly mosquitoes. Simple measures like this save thousands of young lives. Your gift will provide communities with access to basic healthcare, safe drinking water and sanitation.
Healthcare, water and sanitation
World Vision's health programs work alongside community and government organisations to improve the facilities and services provided by local health clinics. Childhood immunisation is often included in projects, along with health, hygiene and disease prevention education and training for community health workers and traditional birth attendants. Responding to HIV and AIDS is a priority for World Vision because it is the single biggest health challenge facing the developing world today. We focus on HIV prevention as well as care and support for those affected by the disease.
World Vision works with communities to create and improve clean water and sanitation infrastructure through activities such as digging boreholes and wells, protecting natural springs, installing water pumps and laying pipes, and constructing toilets. Projects deliver hygiene education and train community members to repair and maintain water and sanitation system
